Feeling Blue?

Often times we can go through daily life with all its ups & downs never really grasping it effects on us. The demands that people often put on themselves can leave them wondering “why do I feel the way I do?” Depletion of vital nutrients, lack of appropriate sleep as well as unstable diet can often exacerbate symptoms that can lead to a very unhealthy outcome. Doctors continue to recommend a well balanced diet coupled with sufficient exercise to help a person to gain control of their lives again. Researchers have deemed when a person is unable to get at least 7 hrs of sleep it is impossible for the body to heal itself. One of the things that is often helpful is to break the routine that we are in and just do something that is not normal for us. Riding a bike, hiking, walking on the beach, even just some simple exercise can stimulate endorphin’s in our brain that can aide us. Maybe just getting away from our day to day ambience for a burger or a sunset walk is able to move the grey feelings we have. Today, if possible, grab the hand of the one you enjoy and venture out into the vast world our creator has given us for our enjoyment & pleasure.

I had a friend once who showed up at my door unannounced who knew I had been going through a dark time and hadn’t left my home in days. He was on the Bomb Squad & I on the S.W.A.T Team at the time. He told me that he needed my help and that he had to drive to the foothills to check on a potential suspect but could not do it without me. “He needed my help” I thought. Reluctantly I got dressed and went with him for the ride. We had been gone approx 2 hours when I noticed that he really didn’t have anywhere in particular that he was going to. It was a ruse, a ploy to get me away from my home. After buying me a burger and just “spending” time with me I was able to see past the grey clouds that were over me. That incident happened 25 yrs ago and I have never forgot his kind gesture to this day. He spent time with me and all it costed him was time and a burger. What a small price to pay to bring someone back from despair.

Take just a minute in your circumstance you may going through and ask yourself  “Is there someone who needs my help?” Who knows maybe you will get a burger out of it and at the very least you will be helped!
